Provider Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 February 2026
Looking for the Customer Terms of Service?
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating a Provider account on the Sqygly platform ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Provider Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
These Terms apply specifically to Providers — independent window cleaning professionals who use Sqygly to advertise their services and receive bookings. These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
2. About Sqygly
Sqygly is an online marketplace that connects customers with independent window cleaning professionals. We act as an intermediary — we are not your employer, your client, or a party to the cleaning contract between you and the customer.
The Platform enables you to create a profile, set your services and pricing, receive quote requests from customers, manage bookings, and receive payments.
3. Your Account & Profile
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom to create a Provider account.
- You must provide accurate and complete information during registration, including a valid email address. You must verify your email address before you can sign in.
- You must complete the Stripe Connect onboarding process, which includes identity verification, to receive payments through the Platform.
- Your Provider profile (business name, services, pricing, bio, coverage area, and profile photo) must be accurate, professional, and kept up to date.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You may not create multiple accounts, impersonate another person or business, or misrepresent your qualifications or experience.
- Your profile will be visible to customers in your coverage area once your account is fully set up and verified.
4. Service Standards
As a Provider on Sqygly, you agree to:
- Deliver window cleaning services to a professional standard, using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Arrive at bookings on time. If you are running late or need to reschedule, notify the customer as soon as possible through the Platform.
- Treat all customers with respect and professionalism.
- Honour all confirmed bookings. Repeated cancellations or no-shows may result in account suspension or termination.
- Comply with all applicable health and safety regulations whilst on a customer's property.
- Take reasonable care not to damage the customer's property, windows, frames, or surrounding areas.
- Leave the work area clean and tidy after completing a job.
5. Quoting & Pricing
- You set your own prices for your services. Sqygly does not dictate or control your pricing.
- When a customer requests a quote, you may accept, decline, or propose an alternative price.
- Quotes should be fair and transparent. The price you quote is the total amount the customer will be charged per clean.
- Once a customer accepts your quote, a recurring subscription is created. The agreed price should be honoured for the duration of the subscription.
- If you need to adjust pricing (e.g., due to changed property circumstances), you should discuss this with the customer first.
- Sqygly may display your profile-level pricing (e.g., "from £X") to customers browsing the Platform. Ensure your profile pricing is accurate.
6. Payments & Platform Fees
Payments are processed through Stripe Connect. You must complete Stripe's onboarding and identity verification to receive payouts.
- How it works: When a customer is charged for a clean, the payment goes through Stripe. You receive the full amount you quoted — Sqygly does not deduct any fees from your earnings. The customer pays a separate platform fee on top of your price.
- Platform fee (paid by customer): Customers are charged a flat £1.95 platform fee on top of each window cleaning payment. For additional services (e.g., gutter cleaning, conservatory cleaning), the customer pays a 3% fee with a £1.95 minimum. This fee goes to Sqygly and does not affect your payout.
- Payout schedule: Payouts to your bank account are made on a 7-day rolling basis. This means funds from a payment will arrive in your bank account approximately 7 days after the charge.
- Stripe dashboard: You can view your earnings, payouts, and transaction history via the Stripe Express Dashboard, accessible from your Provider dashboard.
- Refunds: If a refund is issued to a customer, the refund amount will be deducted from your Stripe balance. If your balance is insufficient, it may be deducted from future payouts. Stripe's processing fees are non-refundable.
- Tax obligations: You are solely responsible for your own tax obligations, including registering as self-employed with HMRC, filing self-assessment tax returns, and paying any income tax and National Insurance contributions due. Sqygly does not withhold tax on your behalf.
7. Subscriptions & Scheduling
- When a customer accepts your quote, a recurring subscription is created at the agreed frequency (weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or quarterly).
- You are expected to carry out the clean at each billing cycle. Customers are charged automatically at the start of each period.
- If a customer pauses their subscription, no payment is taken and no clean is expected until they resume.
- If a customer cancels their subscription, you will be notified by email. No further payments will be taken.
- You may not continue to charge a customer or expect payment outside of the Platform for services initially arranged through Sqygly.
8. Messaging & Communication
⚠️ Important: All messages sent through the Sqygly platform are stored and may be reviewed by Sqygly staff for safety, moderation, and dispute resolution purposes.
Sqygly provides a built-in messaging system so you can communicate with customers. When using this feature:
- Messages are not private. All messages are stored on Sqygly's servers and are accessible to Sqygly staff. We may review messages to investigate disputes, ensure user safety, enforce these Terms, and improve our services.
- No abuse or harassment. You must not send messages that are threatening, abusive, discriminatory, sexually explicit, defamatory, or otherwise offensive. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
- No spam or solicitation. You must not use the messaging system to send unsolicited commercial messages, advertisements, or promotional material unrelated to your cleaning services.
- No circumventing the Platform. You must not use messages to arrange payments or bookings outside of Sqygly in order to avoid platform fees. Sharing personal contact details (phone numbers, email addresses, social media) for the purpose of taking customers off-platform is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account termination.
- Professional communication. Respond to customer messages in a timely and professional manner. Prompt communication builds trust and improves your profile's visibility.
- Report concerns. If you receive inappropriate messages from a customer, please report them using the "Report a Problem" feature or by contacting us at hello@Sqygly.com.
- Consequences. Violation of these messaging rules may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent termination of your account, at Sqygly's sole discretion.
9. Reviews & Ratings
- Customers may leave reviews and star ratings after completed bookings. These are displayed on your profile.
- You may respond publicly to reviews.
- You must not solicit, incentivise, or coerce customers into leaving positive reviews.
- You must not create fake reviews or use third parties to inflate your ratings.
- If you believe a review is unfair, false, or in violation of our guidelines, you may report it to us for investigation.
- Manipulation of the review system is a serious violation and may result in account termination.
10. Insurance & Compliance
- Public liability insurance: We strongly recommend that you hold appropriate public liability insurance (minimum £1 million cover). While not a mandatory requirement for using the Platform, it protects you and your customers in the event of accidental damage or injury.
- Legal compliance: You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including health and safety legislation, data protection laws, and any local authority requirements.
- Working at height: If your services involve working at height (e.g., ladders, water-fed poles at elevation), you must follow the Health and Safety Executive's (HSE) guidance on working at height and use appropriate safety equipment.
- Right to work: You must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
- HMRC registration: You must be registered with HMRC as self-employed (or as a limited company) and comply with all tax obligations.
11. Independent Contractor Status
You are an independent contractor, not an employee, worker, or agent of Sqygly. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment relationship, partnership, joint venture, or agency arrangement between you and Sqygly.
As an independent contractor:
- You control how, when, and where you provide your services.
- You are free to work for other platforms, clients, or businesses.
- You are responsible for your own tools, equipment, and transport.
- Sqygly does not provide holiday pay, sick pay, pension contributions, or any employment benefits.
- You are responsible for your own tax affairs, including income tax and National Insurance.
12. Liability & Disclaimers
- Sqygly is a marketplace platform. We do not guarantee you any minimum number of bookings, customers, or income.
- The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sqygly shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including loss of earnings or business.
- You are solely liable for any damage, injury, or loss you cause to customers, their property, or third parties whilst providing your services.
- You agree to indemnify and hold Sqygly harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your services or your breach of these Terms.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
13. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform — including the Sqygly name, logo, design, text, graphics, and software — is owned by or licensed to Sqygly and protected by intellectual property laws.
By posting content (e.g., profile information, photos, service descriptions), you grant Sqygly a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute that content on the Platform as necessary to operate and promote the service.
You must not use the Sqygly name, logo, or branding in your own marketing materials without our prior written consent.
14. Dispute Resolution
If you have a dispute with a customer, we encourage you to resolve it directly using the Platform's messaging system. If that fails, you can contact us and we will attempt to mediate in good faith.
Sqygly's role in dispute resolution is limited to mediation. We may review messages and booking history to understand the situation, but any decisions we make are non-binding unless otherwise agreed.
For disputes with Sqygly directly, please contact us at hello@Sqygly.com. If we cannot resolve the issue informally, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
15. Termination
- You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Active customer subscriptions to your services will be cancelled and customers will be notified.
- We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these Terms, provide substandard services, receive persistent customer complaints, abuse the messaging system, or engage in fraudulent activity.
- Upon termination, your profile will be removed from the Platform and you will no longer receive new bookings. Outstanding payouts will be processed according to Stripe's standard schedule.
- Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., liability, indemnification, intellectual property) will continue in effect.
16. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you may close your account.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
