Customer Terms of Service

Looking for the Provider Terms of Service?
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating a customer account on the Sqygly platform ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Customer Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
These Terms apply specifically to customers — individuals who use Sqygly to find, compare, and book window cleaning services. These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
2. About Sqygly
Sqygly is an online marketplace that connects customers with independent window cleaning professionals ("Providers"). We act as an intermediary — we are not a window cleaning company and do not directly provide cleaning services.
When you book a Provider through Sqygly, your contract for the cleaning service is directly with that Provider, not with Sqygly. We facilitate the connection, handle payment processing, and provide tools to manage your bookings.
3. Your Account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You must provide accurate and complete information during registration, including a valid email address.
- You must verify your email address before you can sign in. A verification link will be sent to you upon registration.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your password with anyone.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
- You may not create multiple accounts or impersonate another person.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Finding & Booking Providers
The Platform allows you to search for Providers in your area, view their profiles, read reviews, and request quotes for window cleaning services.
- Provider profiles display information provided by the Providers themselves. Sqygly does not independently verify all profile information.
- Prices shown are set by Providers. Sqygly does not control or set the price of cleaning services.
- You may request quotes from Providers by providing your property details. Providers may accept, decline, or propose alternative pricing.
- A booking is confirmed when you accept a Provider's quote and a recurring subscription is created.
- You are responsible for ensuring the property details you provide are accurate and up to date.
5. Payments & Subscriptions
Payments on Sqygly are processed securely through Stripe, our third-party payment provider.
- When you accept a quote, a recurring subscription is created based on the agreed cleaning frequency (e.g., weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or quarterly).
- Your payment card will be charged automatically at the start of each billing cycle. You will receive an email confirmation for each payment.
- All prices are in British Pounds (GBP). When you accept a quote, a small platform fee of £1.95 is added on top of the clean price quoted by your Provider. This platform fee is clearly shown before you confirm.
- Your Provider receives the full amount they quoted. The £1.95 platform fee goes to Sqygly to operate and maintain the Platform.
- For additional services (e.g., gutter cleaning, conservatory cleaning), the platform fee is 3% of the clean price, with a minimum of £1.95.
- You can view and manage your subscriptions from your customer dashboard at any time.
- By providing your payment details, you authorise Sqygly to charge your card via Stripe for each scheduled clean.
6. Cancellations & Refunds
- Pausing a subscription: You may pause your subscription at any time from your dashboard. While paused, no further payments will be taken until you resume.
- Cancelling a subscription: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will not be charged again after cancellation.
- Refunds: If a clean was not carried out, or was carried out to an unsatisfactory standard, you may request a refund by contacting us within 7 days of the charge. Refund requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- Stripe processing fees: Please note that Stripe's payment processing fees are non-refundable. Where a full refund is issued, the processing fee may be deducted.
- Disputes: If you are unhappy with a service, we encourage you to first contact the Provider directly through the Platform's messaging system. If you cannot resolve the issue, contact us and we will mediate in good faith.
7. Messaging & Communication
⚠️ Important: All messages sent through the Sqygly platform are stored and may be reviewed by Sqygly staff for safety, moderation, and dispute resolution purposes.
Sqygly provides a built-in messaging system so you can communicate with Providers before, during, and after bookings. When using this feature:
- Messages are not private. All messages are stored on Sqygly's servers and are accessible to Sqygly staff. We may review messages to investigate disputes, ensure safety, enforce these Terms, and improve our services.
- No abuse or harassment. You must not send messages that are threatening, abusive, discriminatory, sexually explicit, defamatory, or otherwise offensive. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
- No spam or solicitation. You must not use the messaging system to send unsolicited commercial messages, advertisements, or promotional material.
- No circumventing the Platform. You must not use messages to arrange payments or bookings outside of Sqygly in order to avoid platform fees. Sharing personal contact details (phone numbers, email addresses, social media) for the purpose of circumventing Sqygly is prohibited.
- Report concerns. If you receive inappropriate or threatening messages from a Provider, please report them immediately using the "Report a Problem" feature or by contacting us at hello@Sqygly.com.
- Consequences. Violation of these messaging rules may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent termination of your account, at Sqygly's sole discretion.
8. Reviews & Ratings
- After a booking, you may leave a review and star rating for your Provider.
- Reviews must be honest, fair, and based on your genuine experience.
- Reviews must not contain offensive language, personal attacks, discriminatory remarks, or false information.
- We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these guidelines.
- You must not offer or accept payment in exchange for reviews. Fake or incentivised reviews are strictly prohibited and may result in account termination.
9. Your Responsibilities
As a customer, you agree to:
- Provide accurate property details (address, number of windows, property type, access requirements).
- Ensure safe and reasonable access for the Provider to carry out their work, including securing pets and removing obstructions.
- Be present or arrange access at the agreed time, or inform your Provider in advance if access arrangements change.
- Treat Providers with respect and professionalism at all times.
- Report any issues with a service promptly through the Platform rather than leaving it unresolved.
- Keep your account information and payment details up to date.
- Not use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Platform.
10. Liability & Disclaimers
- Sqygly is a marketplace platform. We do not employ, endorse, or guarantee any Provider.
- We do not guarantee the availability, quality, safety, or timeliness of services offered by Providers.
- The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sqygly shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or any services booked through it.
- Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to Sqygly (platform fees, not the Provider's service charges) in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
- If a Provider causes damage to your property during a clean, you should raise this directly with the Provider and their insurer. Sqygly is not liable for damage caused by Providers.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform — including the Sqygly name, logo, design, text, graphics, and software — is owned by or licensed to Sqygly and protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without our written consent.
By posting content (e.g., reviews, messages, property photos), you grant Sqygly a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and store that content as necessary to operate and improve the Platform.
12. Dispute Resolution
If you have a dispute with a Provider, we encourage you to resolve it directly using the Platform's messaging system. If that fails, you can contact us and we will attempt to mediate in good faith.
Sqygly's role in dispute resolution is limited to mediation. We are not obligated to resolve disputes and any decisions we make are non-binding unless otherwise agreed.
For disputes with Sqygly directly, please contact us at hello@Sqygly.com. If we cannot resolve the issue informally, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Termination
- You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Any active subscriptions will be cancelled.
- We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these Terms, abuse the messaging system, engage in fraudulent activity, or for any other reason at our reasonable discretion.
- Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Any outstanding payments remain due.
- Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., liability, intellectual property, dispute resolution) will continue in effect.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
